I will be 19 this year and I finished highschool last summer. Grad of 2005! I am accepted to Providence college in Manitoba and will be heading there this fall with my brother, David, who will have finished his first year there this spring. I am entering a program called Communications and Media but only plan to stay there a year. Next fall (2007) I plan to head out to either Winnipeg or Hamilton. Depends how things work out i suppose. I love photography and am learning a lot of new ideas and tricks about image editing and "capturing the image". I understand that photorgraphy runs in the Hall family veins so I am following in family footsteps i suppose. I always have a million projects on the go. Right now I am leading, with two other girls, a youth group for girls in our area in grades 6-8. We called it Fixed Eyes (ya, i stole that from Rachel) I also enjoy scrapbooking a lot. I think that goes with my graphic designing. One of my other projects is my 1983 Camaro Z28 which my dad is helping me fix up...or i am helping my dad. one or the other. I am having a lot of fun and can't wait until it is all done so i can drive it this summer. Other than my fun time-fillers, i also work full time for my dad at his shop, part time waitressing at the Circle D and I clean my church once a week. That's basically me in a paragraph (a long pararaph).

Hazel E. Goodman

I copied this off of my sister's blog.  The funeral was on Tuesday, August 1.  It went well and what is strange is that the funeral was on the day that grandpa goodman passed away exactly ten years ago.

Grandma Goodman's Obituary

HAZEL E. GOODMAN
August 02, 2006

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Hazel E. Goodman, age 90 years of the Emo Health Centre, formerly of the Golden Age Manor in Emo, Ont., who passed away at her residence on Saturday, July 29, 2006.

She was born on January 5, 1916 in Bromhead, Saskatchewan to the late Wilfred and Laura Shultz. Hazel graduated from the Kitchener/Waterloo Hospital in 1944 as a Registered Nurse.

In 1953 she was united in marriage to Ernest (Keith) Goodman. Later in 1956, they moved to Emo where they raised their family and resided since.

Hazel worked as a Charge Nurse at the Emo Red Cross Hospital in Emo for many years, until her retirement in 1978. She also worked for the Canadian Red Cross Society for over 25 years.

As well, Hazel attended and held various offices at the Calvary Baptist Church in Emo. She also was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Gideons Bible Society.

Following retirement, she and Keith loved to travel through the U.S. and Canada with their little camper trailer. When Keith was no longer able to travel she lovingly cared for him until his death in 1996.

She also very generously gave of her time to assist Dave and Mary doing bookkeeping at Borderland Esso. Hazel will be missed very much by her family and all of her friends that knew her.

She was predeceased by her father Wilfred Shultz; and later by her stepfather Benson Smith and mother Laura Smith; her husband Keith Goodman; one infant daughter Anne Frances Goodman; brothers-in-law Len Shore and John Brubacher; nephew Garth Brubacher and niece Judy France.

Hazel is survived by one son, David Goodman and wife Mary of Emo, Ont., one daughter, Janice Dewar and special friend Larry Catagas of Winnipeg, Man.; and her dearly loved grandchildren, Christina, David, Kathryn, Stephanie, Angela, Sharla, Deidre and William; and great grandson Rylee.

She is also survived by two sisters Velma Brubacher of Peterborough, Ont., and Ruth Shore of Malton, Ont., and by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Emo. Reverend Andrew Hall officiated with interment in the Emo Cemetery in Emo.

Active pallbearers were Gordon Armstrong, John Gerber, Ray Friesen, Henry Kaemingh, David Goodman and William Dewar.

Should family and friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to either the Gideon Bible Society, 10 Carnforth Road, Toronto, ON, M4A 2S4, the Emo Health Centre, Box 390, 170 Front St., Emo, ON, P0W 1E0, or in care of Green Funeral Home, P.O. Box 427, Fort Frances, ON., P9A 3M8.
